CoVet develops AI technology designed to reduce administrative work in veterinary practices while remaining closely aligned with clinical workflows and medical accuracy. The company works with veterinary professionals throughout product development and focuses on helping clinics save time on tasks such as medical records and client communication. Pulse 2.0 interviewed CoVet CEO, CTO and Co-Founder Yannick Bloem to learn more.
Yannick Bloem’s Background

When asked about his background, Bloem shared:
I’ve been starting businesses since my teens, so founding CoVet felt like a natural progression for me. Before CoVet, I spent time at Apple, where I learned the importance of first principles thinking. Always asking “why” instead of doing something just because that is how it has traditionally been done.
I also learned to build for scale from day one. When you’re serving millions of users, that mindset becomes second nature.
Eventually, I felt drawn back to building something from the ground up. In a large organization, the roadmap is often well defined. I wanted the challenge and responsibility of setting the North Star myself and aligning product, people, and mission end-to-end.
How CoVet Started
When asked how the idea for CoVet came together, Bloem explained:
CoVet is led by a team of three founders. When I met Mike Parent, we became friends who quickly realized we were looking for the right project to build together.
Once we started aligning on a direction, we connected with Dr. Mike Mossop, DVM, to pressure test the problem and deeply understand veterinary workflows before going too far into product development.
I did not come from the veterinary world, so my conviction came from listening. Hearing firsthand about the administrative burden in clinics and how much it takes away from clinical work made the problem real and urgent.
From day one, we saw it as an incredible industry full of passionate, dedicated people that we were eager to help.
CoVet’s Approach

When asked about CoVet’s approach to building its products, Bloem said:
From the beginning, we agreed we would never build AI for AI’s sake. If we did not believe AI could make something meaningfully better, higher quality, more reliable, and more useful, we would not pursue it.
We would rather grow slower than ship something that does not genuinely raise the bar for veterinary work.
We also never compromise on medical accuracy or on having real veterinarians and veterinary professionals involved in product development. Staying deeply connected to users has been core to our approach.
Early on, anyone who signed up could book time directly with us, and we observed what worked and what did not in real clinic contexts. That closeness shaped the product and removed doubt. We do not build in isolation.
Technology Evolution
When asked how CoVet’s technology has evolved since launching, Bloem explained:
Since launching, CoVet has evolved in very close partnership with our customers. One of the most important drivers of that evolution has been our client support team, which regularly meets with clinics to understand what is working, what could be improved, and where we can create even more value.
We do not treat support as a reactive function. It is an active feedback loop into product development. Those conversations directly shape our roadmap and help us refine workflows, improve usability, and ensure the technology aligns with how clinics actually operate day to day.
Because we stay so closely connected to users, the product continues to become more intuitive, more clinically aware, and more impactful over time. That constant collaboration is a huge part of how CoVet continues to evolve alongside clinics.
Customer Success
When asked to share a specific customer success story, Bloem highlighted:
One of our recent case studies at Green Acres Animal Hospital showed us the incredible benefits of CoVet in the field.
After implementing CoVet, the team was able to save more than two hours each day on administrative tasks like medical records and client communication. That time savings allowed them to see more appointments, operate more efficiently, and focus more fully on patient care.
Over time, those improvements translated into a six times return on investment. Just as importantly, the reduction in administrative burden helped create a more sustainable and energized workday for the team.
Competitive Differentiation
When asked what differentiates CoVet from its competition, Bloem emphasized:
What truly differentiates CoVet is the depth of clinical expertise behind the product. We are backed by decades of hands-on veterinary experience through our nine person in house medical team, led by Dr. Mike Mossop, and that firsthand insight shapes every feature and interaction.
We do not build in isolation. Everything is grounded in real clinical workflows and real world practice needs.
Our platform is also highly customizable and clinic-aware. It adapts to the unique needs of each veterinary role, whether that is general practice, specialty, or large animal medicine.
CoVet delivers enterprise-grade performance and privacy compliance for practices of all sizes, from solo DVMs to global veterinary groups.
