CX Institutional, a fee-only RIA in Indiana, acquired TFG Advisors, a Michigan-based firm with about $420 million in AUM. This marks Credent’s second and third Michigan offices, bringing its total AUM close to $4 billion and reinforcing its Midwest presence.
TFG serves around 400 clients, including business owners and high-net-worth individuals, from its Auburn Hills and Ann Arbor offices. Principals George Barnhart, Terry Hirsch, and Paul Reile will join Credent and continue serving clients. The expansion builds on Credent’s Portage office and aims to grow its Midwest footprint while keeping its core values.
Clients will benefit from Credent’s enhanced financial planning, broader investment options, proprietary strategies, and institutional offerings. Known for family-focused service, TFG has long-standing, referral-based client relationships.
This partnership supports TFG’s succession plans, ensures continuity for clients, and creates new opportunities for upcoming advisors. Credent plans to further develop TFG’s Ann Arbor office, recognizing its community roots and growth potential.
As Credent’s eighth partnership in three years, this acquisition aligns with its growth strategy to build a “forever firm” rooted in client service, planning, investment expertise, and operational strength.
