Crescent Grove Advisors has promoted Andrew Krei, CFA, to Chief Investment Officer, expanding his responsibilities as the employee-owned wealth management firm continues developing its investment platform and leadership team.

Krei previously served as Co-Chief Investment Officer and will now lead the firm’s investment strategy, portfolio construction, asset allocation, and investment research activities.

The appointment is part of Crescent Grove’s broader succession and leadership development strategy as the firm enters its second decade.

Founded in 2015, Crescent Grove serves ultra-high-net-worth individuals, families, institutions, foundations, and endowments.

Its investment approach combines customized portfolio construction, asset allocation, and research with financial planning and wealth management services designed for clients with complex financial requirements.

Under the new leadership structure, Dave Keevins will continue serving as Chairman of the Crescent Grove Investment Committee, along with his existing responsibilities as Founder, Managing Director, and Senior Client Advisor.

Keevins will maintain an active role in investment oversight, strategic direction, and client relationships while Krei assumes greater responsibility for managing the investment team’s day-to-day activities.

The arrangement provides additional leadership continuity while giving Krei broader authority over the firm’s investment process.

Krei has played an important role in developing Crescent Grove’s investment perspective and communicating its views on financial markets.

In addition to overseeing investment research and working with clients, he has been a frequent financial media contributor, discussing economic developments, monetary policy, portfolio allocation, and global market trends.

His responsibilities as CIO will include coordinating investment research and translating the firm’s market views into portfolio management decisions.

The appointment also reflects Crescent Grove’s preference for developing its leadership team internally.

Rather than recruiting an external executive to assume the CIO position, the firm is expanding Krei’s responsibilities following his existing role as Co-Chief Investment Officer.

Krei and Keevins have worked together for nearly two decades, including their professional relationship before Crescent Grove was established.

Before joining Crescent Grove, Krei led investment research at Cedar Street Advisors, a boutique wealth management firm, where he supported investment due diligence.

He is a member of the CFA Society in Milwaukee and earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Los Angeles.

Keevins previously worked with and mentored Krei at Cedar Street Advisors.

Earlier in his career, Keevins served as a Senior Partner at a Goldman Sachs subsidiary, advising senior corporate executives on personal financial matters.

At Crescent Grove, Keevins specializes in comprehensive investment and financial planning for business owners and executives seeking to grow, preserve, and manage their wealth.

His continuing role as Investment Committee Chairman will allow him to remain involved in the firm’s investment strategy while supporting its next generation of leadership.

Gregg George, Founder, Managing Director, and Senior Client Advisor, said Krei’s promotion reflects Crescent Grove’s commitment to investing in its employees and expanding its capabilities internally.

The firm’s approach emphasizes maintaining a collaborative investment organization while developing professionals capable of managing increasingly complex client requirements.

As CIO, Krei will oversee the investment team and support the continued development of Crescent Grove’s open-architecture investment platform.

That model allows the firm to evaluate investment opportunities across different managers, strategies, and asset classes rather than relying exclusively on proprietary investment products.

The promotion establishes Krei as the executive responsible for the firm’s investment strategy as Crescent Grove continues developing its client relationships and expanding its advisory capabilities.
