Crowell & Moring has added Chiraag Shah as a partner in its International Dispute Resolution practice in London, strengthening the firm’s capabilities in complex commercial and investor-state arbitration.
Shah brings more than 25 years of international arbitration experience and is recognized by Chambers and Legal 500 for his work in the field.
He joins Crowell from Morrison & Foerster’s London office, where he served as Global Head of International Arbitration and Head of the Africa Desk.
Before Morrison & Foerster, Shah was a partner at Kirkland & Ellis.
Shah has substantial experience across Africa and the Middle East and previously worked at leading law firms in Kenya before relocating to the U.K.
His regional disputes experience includes matters involving Kenya, Egypt, Ghana, Nigeria, the UAE, Qatar and Kuwait, along with sanctions-related disputes.
Crowell expects Shah’s appointment to expand its London arbitration capabilities and strengthen its cross-border disputes offering across its international offices, including London, Doha and Brussels.
