Cumming Group announced the acquisition and merger of RGD Project Management, expanding its Advanced Technologies division and strengthening its position in the life sciences manufacturing sector across the United States.

Under the deal, RGD Project Management will join Cumming Group’s Advanced Technologies division, which supports technically complex projects across life sciences, semiconductors, data centers, and advanced manufacturing. The acquisition significantly deepens Cumming Group’s capabilities in North Carolina’s Research Triangle, one of the most active biopharmaceutical manufacturing hubs in the country.

Founded in 1999, RGD Project Management is an 81-person firm specializing in technical project management and advisory services for pharmaceutical and biotechnology manufacturers. The company has completed more than 2,200 pharmaceutical and high-technology projects and is recognized for delivering complex, schedule-critical manufacturing programs for blue-chip clients.

The transaction also aligns with growing investment activity in North Carolina’s life sciences sector, which has attracted more than $10 billion in recent manufacturing investments. The state is home to approximately 860 life sciences companies and more than 100 biopharmaceutical manufacturing facilities.

Cumming Group said the acquisition increases the size of its Advanced Technologies division to more than 700 professionals globally, further expanding the company’s ability to support complex industrial and life sciences developments.
