CurbWaste, an operating system for independent waste haulers, announced it has raised $28 million in Series B funding, bringing its total funding to $50 million. The funding round was led by Socium Ventures, a venture and growth firm backed by Cox Enterprises, with participation from Flourish Ventures, TTV Capital, B Capital Group, and Squarepoint.
CurbWaste provides modern, end-to-end software that helps haulers, many of which are family-owned businesses, streamline operations, reduce costs, and grow sustainably. These haulers represent a vital part of the American economy, responsible for keeping communities and cities clean every day. But many still rely on outdated, paper-based systems. CurbWaste was founded to change that, creating a shared platform that not only improves business operations but also enhances the quality of life for the people behind these essential services.
The platform currently supports 150 haulers across the U.S., from small family-run operations to larger regional players. Customers report tangible benefits, such as significant time savings, reduced operational overhead, and improved competitiveness. One early customer, Melissa Polutta, owner of Trashgurl, previously had to start her day at 3 a.m. to dispatch trucks manually. Now, she can run operations remotely—spending more time with her family and enjoying newfound flexibility while maintaining higher productivity.
The waste management software market is undergoing rapid digital transformation, with the U.S. sector valued at $4.3 billion in 2023 and projected to nearly double by 2030. As competition grows, independent haulers are increasingly adopting digital tools to remain compliant, meet customer expectations, and win contracts.
CurbWaste plans to use the Series B funding to expand its team, grow its go-to-market operations, and accelerate product innovation, especially in AI and machine learning. The company aims to develop intelligent tools that automate decision-making, optimize routes, and solve real-world challenges specific to the waste management industry.
How the funding will be used: With its new investment and growing customer base, CurbWaste continues to redefine how independent haulers operate, ensuring these community-driven businesses can thrive in the digital age.
