Cursor has raised $2.3 billion in a Series D funding round, valuing the company at $29.3 billion, marking one of the largest private financings in the AI developer tools sector. The round included continued support from existing investors, including Thrive, a16z, Accel, and DST, as well as new backers Coatue, NVIDIA, and Google. The investment positions Cursor to scale its AI development platform amid soaring demand from enterprises and record revenue growth.

The San Francisco-based company has seen extraordinary traction throughout 2025, reporting a 100x increase in enterprise revenue year to date as professional developers adopt Cursor to produce secure and scalable software more efficiently. The company plans to use the new capital to deepen research efforts, advance product development, and expand frontier model training. This includes continued work on Composer, Cursor’s recently launched agentic coding model designed to help teams build high-quality software faster.

With the new funding, Cursor also intends to grow its workforce across offices in San Francisco and New York City. The company has already expanded to over 250 team members, spanning engineering, research, design, and operations. Cursor has surpassed $1 billion in annualized revenue and now serves millions of developers along with many of the world’s leading engineering organizations.

Cursor describes itself as the platform for performing work over a codebase, supporting how software is written, read, and reviewed. The company believes AI can not only simplify coding for newcomers but also elevate expert teams by automating repetitive tasks and allowing developers to focus on higher-impact technical decisions. The latest financing strengthens Cursor’s position as a leading provider of AI-enabled software development tools and marks a significant milestone in the company’s mission to power the next era of software creation.

Cursor serves more than 50,000 teams globally, including a majority of Fortune 500 companies, through a suite of tools that streamline code writing, reviewing, and maintenance.
