Cvent, a McLean, Virginia-based meetings, events, and hospitality technology provider, announced recently that it acquired San Francisco-based DoubleDutch. DoubleDutch is a leader in the mobile event app industry. The terms of the deal were undisclosed.

Why did Cvent buy DoubleDutch? The acquisition of DoubleDutch highlights Cvent’s investment in the mobile technology space and it will complement and grow the company’s signature mobile event app and onsite solution capabilities.

Mobile event apps have become an essential part of the attendee experience as it facilitates and captures engagement thus leading to higher event ROI and attendee satisfaction. With the acquisition of DoubleDutch, Cvent is expanding on its commitment to the critically important onsite experience.

Cvent has more than 4,000 employees, 25,000 customers, and 300,000 users worldwide. And the Cvent Event Cloud offers software solutions to event planners and marketers for online event registration, venue selection, event management/marketing, onsite solutions, and attendee engagement. And Cvent’s suite of products automates the planning process to maximize the impact of events. Plus the Cvent Hospitality Cloud partners with hotels and venues to help them drive group and corporate travel business.
