CyberNut, a cybersecurity awareness platform focused exclusively on K-12 school districts, has acquired Neptune Navigate, a widely used digital citizenship curriculum provider. The move strengthens CyberNut’s ability to address student online safety alongside its existing staff-focused cybersecurity training, reflecting a broader push among school districts to adopt unified solutions that protect entire school communities.
The acquisition adds depth to CyberNut’s student-facing offerings, which already include digital citizenship education integrated with its core tools such as phishing simulations, security awareness training, and threat reporting. By incorporating Neptune Navigate’s established curriculum, CyberNut aims to deliver a more comprehensive approach that spans both student behavior and staff security practices within a single platform. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Cybersecurity threats targeting schools have increased in recent years, with phishing attacks and account compromises posing risks not only to staff systems but also to student data and online behavior. As a result, districts are increasingly seeking integrated platforms that combine technical defenses with education. CyberNut’s platform, currently used by more than 400 school districts, is designed specifically for education environments and has reported significant reductions in phishing susceptibility among staff users.
Neptune Navigate brings a purpose-built curriculum designed to teach students how to safely and responsibly navigate digital environments. Its integration is expected to enhance CyberNut’s ability to deliver age-appropriate, engaging content that builds digital literacy and online safety skills among students while aligning with staff training initiatives.
Looking ahead, CyberNut said its immediate focus will be ensuring a smooth transition for Neptune Navigate’s existing partners ahead of the 2026–27 school year. The company also plans to introduce updates to the curriculum, including refreshed content, more interactive features, and tighter integration between student learning modules and staff cybersecurity training programs.
