Cyera, an AI security platform, announced the appointment of Brandon Sweeney as President as the company deepens its executive leadership team following a recent $9 billion valuation. The move comes after Cyera reported 3.4x growth over the past year and completed a Series F funding round that tripled its valuation.
Based in New York, Cyera said the leadership expansion reflects its next phase of growth as enterprises accelerate AI adoption and increase demand for robust AI and data security solutions. The company has been scaling rapidly, driven by rising enterprise adoption and an expanding global team.
As President, Sweeney will lead the evolution of Cyera’s global go-to-market organization, with a focus on strengthening customer success and aligning product, sales, and partner teams to meet the needs of large enterprises. He brings more than 30 years of experience scaling technology companies through critical growth stages.
Prior to joining Cyera, Sweeney served as President and COO at dbt Labs, where he helped guide the company through rapid expansion and an agreed-upon multi-billion-dollar merger. Earlier, he was Chief Revenue Officer at HashiCorp, playing a key role in the company’s IPO. He also spent 16 years at VMware in senior leadership roles during a period of significant global growth.
Alongside Sweeney’s appointment, Cyera expanded its executive bench with additional leadership changes. Shira Azran joined as Chief Legal Officer, bringing more than 25 years of experience as a senior partner at Meitar, where she advised technology companies, founders, and investors on financings, mergers and acquisitions, and strategic decisions. Azran has worked with Cyera since its founding, helping establish the company and supporting its growth.
Joseph Iantosca was promoted to Chief Financial Officer and will continue to lead Cyera’s finance organization and financial strategy. Before joining Cyera, he served as COO at BetterCloud and previously held finance roles at Palantir, supporting its evolution into a global enterprise.
Sharon Shaked was promoted to Chief People Officer and will continue to oversee global people strategy as the company scales across regions and teams. Her focus includes building organizational culture, supporting global expansion, and attracting and retaining talent.
Cyera positions itself as a unified AI security platform that secures data, access, and AI models as organizations increasingly deploy AI tools and agents. The company said it is trusted by a growing number of Fortune 1000 enterprises and has raised more than $1.7 billion in funding from investors including Accel, Blackstone, Coatue, Cyberstarts, Georgian, Greenoaks, Lightspeed, Redpoint, and Sequoia.
