(See Pulse 2.0 profile of Cyera here)
Cyera, an artificial intelligence and data security company, has secured a $400 million investment from Growth Equity at Goldman Sachs Alternatives through an extension of its Series G financing round, which was led by Evolution Equity. The investment will accelerate Cyera’s development of a unified data and identity security platform for enterprises deploying autonomous AI agents. The company reports a valuation exceeding $12 billion.
The additional financing will support Cyera’s AI security product roadmap, expand its presence in the federal market, and accelerate international growth across Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and Asia-Pacific.
Cyera is developing technology that enables enterprises to monitor and govern the information accessible to humans, machines, and autonomous AI agents.
As organizations introduce more AI agents into business operations, these systems increasingly interact with sensitive information, access databases, execute software tools, and perform actions without continuous human supervision.
This creates additional security challenges because traditional identity and access management systems were primarily designed to govern human users and conventional software applications.
Cyera addresses these challenges by combining data security and identity management into a unified platform, helping organizations determine which users, systems, and AI agents can access specific information and perform particular actions.
The company’s product portfolio includes Agent Guardian and Cyera Endpoint, which provide visibility into the activities of AI agents across cloud environments and employee devices.
These capabilities extend beyond monitoring prompts and responses to include tool calls, database queries, and other actions performed throughout an agent’s execution process.
The company is also expanding its capabilities through its acquisition of Oasis Security, bringing non-human identity management into its broader security platform.
By combining Oasis Security’s identity management technology with Cyera’s data security capabilities, the company aims to provide a unified approach to governing access across human users, machines, and autonomous AI agents.
The platform is designed to help enterprises identify sensitive data, determine which agents and identities can access that information, and maintain control over agent activities as AI adoption expands.
Cyera’s customers include Paramount, Chipotle, and Valvoline. The company is backed by investors including Accel, Blackstone, Cyberstarts, Georgian, Lightspeed, and Sequoia.
Goldman Sachs Alternatives has more than $706 billion in assets, while its Growth Equity business has invested more than $17 billion in growth-stage companies since 2003.
KEY QUOTES:
“Global 2000 enterprises are telling us the same thing: they need to trust what AI agents can see and do before they can scale them. AI infrastructure is moving faster than the security architecture around it. This investment accelerates our work to bring data and identity together, so enterprises can give agents access with confidence and keep that access aligned with business intent.”
Yotam Segev, Co-Founder and CEO of Cyera
“Securing AI will be one of the defining categories in enterprise technology over the next decade. Cyera was the first to bring data and identity together, and as agents multiply faster than anyone can track, the gap between what they’re trusted to do and what they can actually reach is becoming increasingly dangerous. Cyera’s technology, customer traction, and execution position it to become the platform enterprises rely on to secure AI.”
Irit Kahan, Managing Director Within Growth Equity at Goldman Sachs Alternatives
