Cyient Semiconductors announced it has completed an $85 million majority-stake investment in Kinetic Technologies, a global provider of power semiconductor solutions, marking a significant step in building a scaled semiconductor platform anchored in India and serving global markets.

Kinetic Technologies brings a substantial portfolio of more than 100 silicon-proven IPs and over 250 high-volume custom and application-specific standard products spanning power management, protection, display power, and interface solutions. The acquisition adds immediate product scale, intellectual property depth, and market credibility to Cyient Semiconductors’ operations.

The transaction reflects Cyient Semiconductors’ broader strategy to build a differentiated semiconductor platform focused on custom silicon and ASSP solutions, aligned with long-term demand in power and compute infrastructure. The combined platform is targeting a global market opportunity estimated at $44 billion.

By combining Cyient’s spec-to-silicon engineering expertise with Kinetic Technologies’ established power management and protection IC portfolio, the partnership enhances capabilities to serve global customers with expanded design resources and operational scale. Cyient also gains access to Kinetic’s existing customer base, accelerating its commercial footprint in high-growth semiconductor markets.

Kinetic Technologies will continue operating under its current leadership while benefiting from Cyient’s strategic oversight, expanded global presence, and increased investment in research and development. The integration is expected to strengthen innovation, deepen market reach, and support advanced custom power solutions for next-generation computing and industrial applications.

The partnership also aligns with India’s broader push to become a global hub for semiconductor innovation and manufacturing under national initiatives such as the India Semiconductor Mission.
