Cylake: $45 Million Seed Raised For AI-Native Cybersecurity Platform Built For Data Sovereignty

Cylake announced its launch as a new cybersecurity company developing an AI-native, data-driven security platform designed for organizations that require full control over their data and infrastructure. The company debuted with $45 million in seed funding led by Greylock Partners, alongside participation from additional experienced technology investors.

The startup was founded by Nir Zuk, Wilson Xu, and Ehud (Udi) Shamir, veteran cybersecurity leaders who helped build several major security companies. Zuk founded Palo Alto Networks in 2005 and served as its chief technology officer for more than two decades. Xu spent over a decade helping build Palo Alto Networks, including leading its engineering team, while Shamir co-founded SentinelOne in 2013.

Cylake is developing a comprehensive cybersecurity architecture designed to deliver AI-native protection while enabling organizations to maintain full sovereignty over their data and systems. The platform is intended for institutions that cannot rely on public cloud infrastructure due to regulatory, operational, or national security constraints.

The company’s approach is built on two core principles. The first is the belief that next-generation cybersecurity requires a holistic architecture that provides full visibility across organizational data and infrastructure layers through a unified security platform. According to the company, fragmented security tools and incomplete data visibility create vulnerabilities that attackers can exploit.

The second principle centers on data sovereignty. Many of the world’s largest and most regulated organizations must maintain strict control over sensitive data and operational systems, making public cloud-based security solutions unsuitable for certain environments. Cylake’s platform is designed to run entirely on-premises or within private cloud environments to ensure organizations can maintain full operational control while deploying advanced security capabilities.

The platform is being developed with agentic workflows and a unified data foundation intended to provide organizations with a complete view of security data and context across their infrastructure stack.

Cylake plans to collaborate with a select group of design partners during development, with product availability expected in early 2027.

KEY QUOTES

“Cybersecurity is constantly evolving, and sometimes new challenges demand completely new approaches. Cylake is for institutions where maintaining full control over data and operations is not optional.”
Nir Zuk, Founder And CEO Of Cylake

“The next generation of cybersecurity will be AI-native, agentic, and built on holistic data and context. Cylake is focused on a segment of the market where security must operate under full control to meet regulatory and operational reality.”
