Cyllene Therapeutics announced the appointment of Alyssa Levin to its Board of Directors, where she will also serve as Chair of the Audit Committee, alongside two new leadership hires: Clara Cambon-Thiebaud as Vice President of Regulatory Affairs and Céline Breda as Vice President of Chemistry, Manufacturing and Controls. The additions come as the company advances its lead candidate, EG110A, toward late-stage clinical development for neurogenic bladder-related incontinence.
Levin brings more than 15 years of biotechnology finance experience, having raised more than $500 million through financings and led corporate transactions across public and private life sciences companies. She currently serves as Chief Financial Officer of Radionetics Oncology and has previously held CFO and finance leadership roles at Nkarta, ViaCyte, Tentarix Biotherapeutics, and Bird Rock Bio, including co-leading ViaCyte’s $320 million acquisition by Vertex Pharmaceuticals and a $240 million follow-on public offering at Nkarta. Cambon-Thiebaud brings more than 15 years of global regulatory experience across more than 30 development programs, having begun her career at Genentech before running a regulatory consulting practice. Breda brings more than 25 years of experience in chemistry, manufacturing, and controls strategy across vaccines, viral vectors, and other biologics.
Cyllene Therapeutics describes itself as the global leader in non-replicating HSV-1 vector technology in neurology. The company’s HERMES platform is designed to deliver targeted neurotherapeutics to the peripheral and central nervous system, and its lead candidate, EG110A, is currently in a Phase 1/2 study in the United States, representing what the company said is the first human study of nrHSV vectors targeting sensory neuron-based diseases.
