Cymphony Raises $30 Million To Build AI Agent Governance And Enterprise Security Platform

Cymphony has launched with $30 million in funding to develop an AI-native governance and security platform designed to give enterprises visibility and control over how employees and AI agents access sensitive data and critical systems. The financing was co-led by Sequoia Capital and SMBC Fin Atlas Beyond Fund. Cymphony is building its platform around the growing use of autonomous AI agents inside enterprises, where software increasingly interacts directly with company systems, sensitive information and business processes.

The company believes traditional enterprise security models were primarily designed around human employees and conventional software applications rather than AI agents capable of independently accessing systems and taking actions.

Cymphony’s platform continuously maps every AI agent and employee across an organization, showing which systems they can access, what sensitive data they interact with and how their activity can create security risks.

The technology combines SaaS, AI, data and identity signals into a single graph intended to provide security teams with context around user and agent behavior rather than simply identifying whether an individual action violates a predefined policy.

Cymphony then prioritizes risks based on that context and can recommend or automate remediation when possible. For issues requiring human involvement, the platform is designed to identify the appropriate employees, coordinate remediation activities, monitor progress and track security actions through completion.

The company is positioning the platform around what it sees as an emerging enterprise environment where human employees and AI agents operate together as part of the workforce.

Cymphony said AI agents can potentially interact with systems, information and capabilities beyond those typically available to an individual employee, creating additional data exposure and governance requirements for security teams.

The company was founded by cybersecurity entrepreneurs Shy Dekel, Idan Berkovits and Edi Gotlieb, who are graduates of Israel’s Talpiot Program and previously held technical roles across Israeli defense and intelligence organizations.

Dekel, Cymphony’s CEO, spent nearly six years in Unit 8200 and ultimately served as Head of the Cyber Department.

Gotlieb, the company’s CTO, previously worked in hardware engineering at Apple and the Israeli Ministry of Defense, while Berkovits, Cymphony’s CPO, previously served as a Research Group Manager in the Office of the Prime Minister of Israel.

Cymphony has already been adopted by enterprise customers including Syngenta, KKR, Cass Information Systems and Athennian.

The company plans to use the $30 million financing to accelerate product development, expand its engineering and go-to-market organizations and support additional enterprises adopting AI agents across their operations.

KEY QUOTES:

“The security industry keeps treating AI as another application to secure, but that’s the wrong model to use. AI agents are becoming active participants in the business. Companies need to know what they’re doing, what they can access, and how they’re interacting with employees before they can secure them.”

Shy Dekel, Co-Founder and CEO of Cymphony

“The biggest enterprise software companies have been built around major technology transitions. AI agents represent the next shift, and the companies that provide visibility and control over that new workforce have the opportunity to become foundational platforms.”

Bogomil Balkansky, Partner at Sequoia Capital

“With both human and increasingly agentic threats, insider risk is being redefined in enterprises, requiring end-to-end platform solutions and Cymphony is leading the way,”

Logan Allin, Managing Partner at SMBC Fin Atlas Beyond Fund
