White & Case has added tax lawyer Cyril Valentin as a partner in Paris, expanding the firm’s Global Tax Practice as well as its Global Financial Institutions Industry Group and Global Private Capital Industry Group. Valentin will lead the tax practice in Paris.
Valentin, described by the firm as one of France’s most prominent tax lawyers, advises corporates, financial institutions, and investment funds on the tax aspects of cross-border and domestic transactions, including public and private M&A, reorganizations, leveraged buyouts, financings, debt restructurings, and real estate deals. He also brings tax litigation experience in French tax courts and at the Court of Justice of the European Union.
He joins from Freshfields, where he served as a partner and head of tax in France, and brings more than 25 years of experience. White & Case said the move follows other recent additions to its tax bench, including hires in London and Washington, DC.
