Cytactic has appointed cybercrime and crisis management expert Shawn J. Chen to its advisory board following a strategic investment by Chen in the company. Chen currently serves as Global Head of Litigation, Financial Crime & Risk Legal, IP and Cyber & Data Privacy at Stripe. He previously served as Global General Counsel for Litigation, Regulatory Enforcement and Investigations at HSBC.
Earlier in his career, Chen worked as a federal prosecutor with the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Connecticut. He helped lead one of the first major cross-border cybercrime prosecutions in the United States, involving Russian hackers and legal questions that helped shape subsequent cybercrime enforcement.
Chen was also among the early academics to teach courses focused on cybercrime and cyberterrorism.
