Cytospire Therapeutics has appointed Sumeet Ambarkhane, M.D., Chief Medical Officer as the biotechnology company prepares its lead immune cell engager program, CYT X300, for first-in-human clinical studies.
Ambarkhane brings more than 20 years of experience across clinical medicine, drug development, regulatory strategy and commercialization in the U.S. and Europe.
Cytospire is developing multispecific immune cell engager antibodies designed to enhance and direct the body’s immune system against cancer.
Its lead program, CYT X300, is a pan-gamma delta T cell engager being advanced as a potential treatment for EGFR-positive solid tumors, including colorectal, head and neck, and non-small cell lung cancers.
Ambarkhane most recently served as CMO of Pathios Therapeutics, where he led clinical development strategy for its immuno-oncology pipeline, including PTT-4256.
Previously, he was CMO at Alligator Bioscience and helped advance its tumor-directed immuno-oncology portfolio, including the progression of mitazalimab toward Phase 3 development in pancreatic cancer.
Earlier, Ambarkhane served as Senior Global Program Medical Director at MorphoSys, where his responsibilities included development of tafasitamab from early-stage clinical studies through confirmatory development and regulatory approvals in major markets. He also held roles at UCB across immunology and neurology development programs.
