D-CRBN announced the successful closing of a €17.5 million Series A funding round led by Astaia, with participation from SFPIM and the EIC, European Innovation Council Fund. The funding will support the company’s efforts to scale its electrified plasma reactor technology, accelerate industrial pilot programs, and move toward initial commercial deployments.
The company develops electrified plasma technology designed to recycle CO₂ rich off gases and hydrocarbons into carbon monoxide and syngas, which are essential building blocks for sustainable fuels, chemicals, and materials. D-CRBN said its approach helps industrial companies strengthen supply security, reduce reliance on fossil feedstocks, and remain competitive while advancing decarbonization goals.
According to the company, its technology has already been validated at industrial pilot scale, and it is currently advancing multiple demonstration projects aimed at commercial deployment. The company described the funding round as an important milestone in its transition from pilot validation to industrial scale-up.
D-CRBN also noted that the EIC Fund has supported the company since 2023 through a €2.5 million EIC Accelerator grant, which helped validate the technology and support its scale-up journey.
