Data Squared (Data²) is an AI-based data analytics and automation company that helps organizations transform complex datasets into actionable insights. Pulse 2.0 interviewed Data Squared CEO Jon Brewton to gain a deeper understanding of the company.
Jon Brewton’s Background

Could you tell me more about your background? Brewton said:
“I’m Jon Brewton, Founder and CEO of Data Squared. I’ve spent over twenty years working in intelligence, technology, and business leadership. My career started in the U.S. military, where I learned how important it is to have accurate, timely information when making critical decisions. After leaving the military, I worked with big companies and government agencies helping them figure out how to make sense of all their data.”
“What I kept seeing everywhere was the same problem, companies and agencies had tons of information but couldn’t turn it into useful insights. They had these fancy analytics tools that could crunch numbers, but they couldn’t show how different pieces of information connected to each other. That frustration led me to put together an amazing team of AI and data experts. Together, we built what I believe is the future of how organizations understand and draw conclusions from their information.”
Formation Of The Company
How did the idea for Data² come together? Brewton shared:
“The idea for Data² came from seeing a huge opportunity to streamline and affect how organizations engage with their data. In having the opportunity to consult with government agencies and Fortune 500 companies, I was able to see the same pattern repeatedly firsthand. Companies were spending millions of dollars collecting and storing data, but still lacked the ability to scale-in terms of reliable and actionable insights-from it. Then came the dawn of the AI age. AI language models like ChatGPT became relevant and initially seemed promising, however, they brought with them a serious problem alongside their new, shiny technology. They would trust any source, fill in the knowledge gaps with false information; and in some cases – becoming increasingly relevant the more a human engaged in a conversation, completely fabricating an answer. This situation alone is extremely dangerous, more so in ecosystems where fidelity in information is mission critical.”
“The lightbulb moment – we realized we had the recipe; knowledge graphs held the answer to both problems. Think of a knowledge graph like a mind-map, giving you the ability to visualize and trace how all your information connects. By organizing data this way, we were able to force a high-fidelity AI response, making it nearly impossible for the AI agent to fill in any gaps with, or completely falsify, its hallucinated results. We also knew that we didn’t want to simply build another AI tool. We wanted to completely change how organizations think about and interact with all their information, delivering the right information at the right time. The name “Data Squared” represents taking your data to the next level by finding the hidden connections and ultimately, the missing value in information.”
Favorite Memory
What has been your favorite memory working for the company so far? Brewton reflected:
“The moment that really stands out is the completion of our first big test. We used a case study that’s normally used to train intelligence analysts. Using our platform, we solved the test in just 14 hours and with 100% accuracy. This result was exceptional when compared to the traditional approach, previously taking a team of six people no less than six weeks: only to get to 70% accuracy. What made it unforgettable was seeing the reaction from the person who created the case study. They immediately got it. We weren’t just making things a little bit better; we were completely changing what was possible.”
“That moment proved everything we’d been working toward. It showed that our (now patented) approach to making AI explainable and trustworthy would deliver amazing results in real situations. It wasn’t just about the technology working. It was about proving we could make AI reliable enough for the most important decisions. That’s when our mission became crystal clear, and we knew we were building something that could really change how critical decisions get made.”
Core Products
What are the company’s core products and features? Brewton explained:
“Our main product, the reView platform, is completely changing how organizations use their data. Think of it like this, instead of having your information scattered in different places like spreadsheets, documents, and databases that don’t talk to each other, reView connects everything into a unified, smart system. It has three specialized proprietary tools that can handle any type of data whether it’s structured (like spreadsheets, data warehouses or systems), unstructured (like emails and documents), or time-based information (like sensor readings or financial data over time).”
“reView stands out because our patented technology makes it nearly impossible for AI to produce inaccurate answers. Each insight delivered to the user includes a comprehensive audit trail that cites, referencing the precise source (including stored location and record specifics) to ensure complete transparency in how the reasoner arrived at its conclusion. Our technology addresses the foremost challenge business leaders face when considering how to scale AI across their organization, trust. The reView platform enables users to engage with their data using plain English to generate fast, accurate, and fully traceable responses that are further secured by role-level based permissions.”
“The result is an AI-powered decision-making platform that fuses computational speed with human judgement, ushering in a new era where people and machines collaborate to make smarter, more informed decisions, together. You get the inherent efficiencies in automation you need, with the reliability and accountability that regulated industries require. Organizations can confidently make decisions by asking any question of their data, knowing that every conclusion is underpinned by transparent, data-driven evidence that directly links each answer to its source.”
Challenges Faced
Have you faced any challenges in your sector recently, and how did you overcome them? Brewton acknowledged:
“The biggest challenge we’ve faced is the lack of trust in AI, especially in government and regulated industries where mistakes can be costly. There have been numerous published firsthand accounts of AI solutions providing wrong and/or completely falsified responses. Decision-makers are naturally cautious about using AI in mission-critical ecosystems. The majority of commercially available AI solutions, including the more known brands like Palantir, work in what has been commonly called a “black box.” The user requests information and receives an answer, without the ability to verify the results. The lack of auditability undercuts the value of applying AI to solve challenges in high-reliability environments.”
“This challenge became our biggest advantage. Instead of trying to convince people and teams to trust in AI, we developed a platform that makes AI trustworthy. Our patented approach ensures every AI result is grounded in truth, directly linked to real data, making it nearly impossible for the platform to deliver false or misleading answers. We don’t just tell you what the AI concludes, we show you exactly how it reached that conclusion and which source data supports it.”
“The proof is in the results. When we deliver 100% accuracy with complete transparency, skepticism turns into excitement. Once organizations experience the trustworthy and explainable AI that Data² delivers–with a 10X+ ROI and turning what was once analysis paralysis into outcomes in less than 90 days–they become our champion in every market we serve.”
Evolution Of The Company’s Technology
How has the company’s technology evolved since launching? Brewton noted:
“Since its inception, Data² has evolved from a disruptive idea to now holding the world’s first and only patent for AI systems that resist hallucinations and can explain their reasoning. We first focused on proving that using knowledge graphs can help AI yield more accurate results, and quickly realized we were actually solving a much bigger problem; making AI trustworthy and usable by businesses and governments alike.”
“Our platform has platooned from handling one type of data to seamlessly working within structured, unstructured, and time-based data in harmony. We’ve also enhanced our natural language system to provide organizations with the ability to use multiple AI providers simultaneously while maintaining explainability. Our platform architecture scales smoothly across a diverse portfolio of cloud environments while maintaining top-level security.”
“Recent enhancements include better architected ways of understanding time patterns as well as developing more intelligent and scalable processes–rooted in the understanding that learning systems get smarter based on how people use them. We’ve expanded our offering to include complex multi-customer environments with sophisticated data controls. Our product roadmap reflects our continuous learning and understanding that organizations don’t just need better analytics. We are transforming the way they think about and work within their data.”
