Databarracks Acquires Acumen to Expand Business Resilience Consulting Capabilities

Databarracks announced it has acquired the assets of Acumen Business Services Ltd., further strengthening its business resilience consulting capabilities. The acquisition follows the company’s earlier purchase of PlanB Consulting and expands its Business Resilience Managed Services offering by adding Acumen’s expertise in business continuity, crisis management, risk management, and information security consulting.

Founded in 1997 by Andy Osborne, Acumen has spent more than two decades providing business continuity consulting services to organizations across sectors including financial services, healthcare, and manufacturing. The company serves more than 100 clients and has built a reputation for helping businesses strengthen operational resilience through independent advisory services.

The acquisition supports Databarracks’ strategy of bringing together business continuity expertise with technology resilience and cyber recovery capabilities under a unified service model. The company plans to integrate Acumen’s consulting experience with its Recovery Confidence assurance methodology and managed resilience services, enabling customers to better prepare for operational disruptions, cyberattacks, and other business risks.

Databarracks said the addition of Acumen enhances its ability to help organizations embed resilience across their people, processes, and technology while simplifying the implementation of practical business continuity programs.

The company noted that demand for managed resilience services has continued to increase as organizations face a rapidly evolving risk landscape. Following the earlier acquisition of PlanB Consulting, Databarracks has continued to expand its resilience practice and is actively growing its team to meet customer demand.

Acumen founder Andy Osborne is widely recognized within the business continuity industry for his consulting work and contributions to professional education, including authoring books and sharing industry best practices.

Founded in 2003, Databarracks pioneered one of the world’s first managed backup services and later expanded into data protection, public cloud, cyber recovery, and business resilience solutions. The company now provides business and technology resilience services, backed by around-the-clock expert support, to help organizations prepare for and recover from operational disruptions.
