DataTribe has announced a $3 million seed investment in Rilevera, a cybersecurity startup based in New Jersey focused on helping organizations more effectively manage cyber threat detection. The company provides a centralized platform that allows security teams to write, test, deploy, and maintain detection rules without manually coding or managing complex workflows.
Rilevera’s platform is designed to address the fast pace at which cyber threats are evolving. The system manages and monitors detection rules at scale, providing automated insights into system health and threat coverage. Security teams can generate performance and vulnerability overview reports with a single click, providing them with visibility into gaps and improving operational efficiency.
The company is already working with customers in the technology, fintech, and financial services sectors. The platform was built with input from leaders at more than 30 organizations who reported challenges maintaining reliable detection rules across distributed systems.
Rilevera’s capabilities include:
1.) Automated detection validation that continuously tests detection rules using real data.
2.) Change control versioning that maintains a full audit trail of modifications to detection logic.
3.) Detection health monitoring across tools to identify noisy, inactive, or failing rules.
4.) AI-driven rule tuning to improve accuracy and reduce false positives.
5.) SIEM-agnostic normalization enabling deployment to any security information and event management system.
6.) Rapid onboarding tools that reduce friction when converting ideas into validated detections.
How the funding will be used: Rilevera will use the new funding to accelerate product development, expand its team, and broaden go-to-market efforts. The company joins DataTribe’s portfolio alongside companies such as Dragos, Strider, and BlackCloak. DataTribe closed a $41 million fund earlier this year, marking its third fund since inception.
KEY QUOTES:
“Traditional detection-as-code approaches centralize detection rules into a code repository with the intention of helping detection engineers manage the rules. But ultimately, it only burdens already exhausted security teams who are not developers and are ill-equipped to handle code. Rilevera’s pioneering platform is formalizing the management and maintenance of the detection engineering process, giving security teams a complete diagnostic of their security operations.”
Andy Hunn, Partner, DataTribe
“As a security practitioner turned entrepreneur, I know the pain points security teams face every day in trying to keep pace with evolving, relentless security threats. Rilevera transforms detection engineering from a guessing game to a system of record that makes security teams’ lives easier – not harder. We look forward to working with DataTribe to expand Rilevera’s operations and upend the detection engineering sector.”
Ethan Smart, Co-Founder and CEO, Rilevera
