DBS Hong Kong Names Kyle Tan Head Of Global Financial Markets After Nearly 30 Years In Banking

DBS Hong Kong has appointed Kyle Tan as Managing Director and Head of Global Financial Markets as the bank strengthens its leadership across Greater China and cross-border capital markets.

Tan’s appointment becomes effective September 1, 2026, and he will also join the Hong Kong Management Committee.

He succeeds Jeremy Kok, who is moving into the role of Head of Group Structuring, Singapore and North Asia Trading.

Tan brings almost 30 years of banking experience across global financial markets, trading and treasury solutions.

He joined DBS China in 2007 as Head of Trading and became Head of Global Financial Markets for China in 2018.

Tan later expanded his responsibilities as Deputy CEO of DBS China, where DBS said he helped strengthen its franchise, deliver consistent performance and manage through complex market environments.

His work at DBS China also included supporting the continued opening of Chinese financial markets.

Tan participated in applications for financial licenses that allowed DBS to secure additional business qualifications and broaden its services in China.

He also worked on cross-border finance initiatives designed to connect domestic and international financial resources and deepen China’s integration with global financial markets.

Before joining DBS, Tan began his banking career at Bank of Montreal in China in 1997.

His interbank market work earned recognition related to derivatives and trading.

Tan has also co-authored books on the internationalization of the renminbi, including publications released in 2013 and 2024.

DBS operates across 19 markets, with major businesses spanning Greater China, Southeast Asia and South Asia.

The Hong Kong appointment places an executive with extensive China market experience in charge of Global Financial Markets at a financial center that DBS views as central to two-way capital flows between China and international markets.
