Decade has emerged from stealth with $85 million in seed funding to develop an AI-native wealth advisory business in Brazil. The round was backed by Greenoaks, Benchmark, and Diffusion. Decade described the financing as the largest seed round raised by a Latin American startup.
The company was founded by former Nubank Chief Technology Officer Vitor Olivier and Hyperplane founder Felipe Meneses.
Decade plans to combine human financial advisers with proprietary AI models that can analyze a client’s spending, investments and broader financial position.
Each client will be paired with a senior adviser and an AI system designed to retain the context of previous conversations and continuously evaluate the client’s financial activity.
The company said the approach is intended to provide a level of personalized analysis and monitoring traditionally available mainly to wealthy clients with large advisory teams.
Olivier joined Nubank as an early engineer and eventually became its CTO as the digital bank expanded to more than 100 million customers across Latin America.
Meneses founded Hyperplane, an AI company serving financial institutions that Nubank later acquired. He then worked with Olivier on several of the bank’s AI initiatives.
Decade sees an opportunity in Brazil, where only about one-third of residents hold financial investments and approximately 7% can support themselves through retirement savings, according to figures cited by the company.
The platform will use AI agents to read financial statements, monitor investment positions and analyze a client’s complete balance sheet.
