By Amit Chowdhry • Feb 22, 2024

Definition has announced the launch of Fund I at $80 million. The firm is a high-conviction and low-velocity investment firm based in New York City.

Definition will invest $1 million to $10 million to partner with a handful of elite founders each year, often at inception. And the firm also said that the founding teams that they gravitate towards possess a rare combination of exceptional technical ability, product craftsmanship, commercial instincts, creativity, and unrelenting grit to manifest their bold visions into existence.

KEY QUOTES:

“We support these teams in building iconic companies by helping create talent density and accelerating key commercial relationships.”

“Relentless focus enables us to be a more impactful partner. We pay close attention to the subtle signs of when a business is on the cusp of market inflection and begins to demonstrate inevitability. When we align with a company with these traits, we significantly concentrate capital.”

“We are deeply honored by the founders who have chosen us as their partner, including Matt, Francisco, & Henry (Adaptive), Eli & Alex (Footprint), Erik & Akshat (Modal), Ashoka (Orchestra), Nitish & Jakob (Radiant), Eric & Karim (Ramp), John & Juan (Salsa), Vipul (Together), and more to be announced soon.”
