Dentalcorp, one of North America’s largest dental support organizations, announced a $1 million commitment to the Université de Montréal Faculty of Dental Medicine through the creation of the Dentalcorp Fund. The initiative will support entrepreneurship education, scholarships, oral health research, and clinical advancement opportunities for dental students and graduates in Quebec.
The contribution is part of Université de Montréal’s “Brave the Way” philanthropic campaign and reflects a shared effort to help prepare the next generation of dental professionals with both clinical and business skills.
The Dentalcorp Fund will support four key initiatives:
- 1.A Summer School in Entrepreneurship for fifth-year Doctor of Dental Medicine students.
- 2.Annual scholarships recognizing academic achievement and clinical research excellence.
- 3.The Faculty of Dental Medicine’s annual Scientific Day.
- 4.Oral health research projects focused on clinical innovation and patient care.
In recognition of the contribution, a laboratory for senior doctoral students will be named the Dentalcorp Student Laboratory.
More than 160 dentists who graduated from Université de Montréal’s Faculty of Dental Medicine currently practice within Dentalcorp’s network. The company said the fund extends its support for dental professionals to the earliest stages of their careers by providing students with educational, research, and professional development opportunities before graduation.
Dentalcorp operates a network of more than 600 dental practices across North America and supports more than 5.7 million patient visits annually through its technology-enabled dental care platform.
KEY QUOTES:
“We’ve built a network that attracts the best dentists. Staying there means being part of how the next generation is prepared. Great clinical skills are the foundation. But the best careers in dentistry are built when you pair that with an understanding of how a practice runs, how to lead a team, and how to grow. This fund gives students access to scholarships, research opportunities, and entrepreneurship training so they graduate as stronger clinicians and complete professionals.”
Nate Tchaplia, President, Dentalcorp
“Our dental medicine programs are built on rigorous, evidence-based clinical training designed to develop highly qualified health professionals. But a career in dentistry also involves a management and entrepreneurship dimension that remains essential. As the profession evolves, these competencies need to keep pace with the needs of our future graduates. The Dentalcorp Fund significantly strengthens this component of our training by providing concrete tools. These initiatives enrich the preparation of future dentists for a complete and modern practice.”
