Dentons has appointed capital markets partner Peter Cullen in Dubai, expanding its Middle East Banking and Finance team as the firm continues to build out its debt capital markets capabilities in the region.

Cullen advises on debt capital markets and structured products, with a focus on sukuk and Islamic finance. Dentons said he brings eight years of Middle East experience and has worked on complex transactions for international and regional banks, alongside relationships with major global investment banks and local financial institutions.

He joined Dentons on January 5, 2026. The move follows the recent relocation of DCM partner Victoria Wyer to Dubai from London, with the firm positioning the combined additions as strengthening its DCM and structured finance offering for clients in the Gulf and wider Middle East.

Dentons said it operates seven offices across the Middle East—Amman, Abu Dhabi, Doha, Dubai, Jeddah, Muscat, and Riyadh—and has maintained a presence in the region for more than 50 years.

KEY QUOTES:

“Peter’s appointment, alongside DCM partner Victoria Wyer’s recent relocation to Dubai from London, further enhances the market-leading quality of our Middle East Banking and Finance team.”

Paul Jarvis, CEO, Dentons UK, Ireland and Middle East (UKIME)

“We are very excited to welcome Peter to our Middle East Banking and Finance team. Adding Peter’s DCM and Structured Finance skill set further strengthens our offering to clients as, together with the relocation of Victoria Wyer, we join the very few firms with a two-partner DCM practice in the region. We look forward to announcing further enhancements to our partner and counsel team across the region in the coming months.”
