Dentons has expanded its national Dispute Resolution team in Australia with the appointment of partner Sarah Fregon. Based in Melbourne, Fregon joins the firm with more than 25 years of litigation experience spanning commercial disputes, major torts, corporate crime, and regulatory investigations and enforcement matters.

Fregon advises public, private, and institutional clients across sectors, including financial services, consumer goods, industry bodies, and professional services. Dentons said she brings a distinctive mix of technical capability and leadership experience, having previously worked as a barrister and served in senior executive roles, including as CEO of the Victorian Bar, as well as in general counsel positions within national and multinational organizations.

Dentons noted that Fregon has been recognized by peer-reviewed legal publication Doyle’s Guide as one of Australia’s leading corporate crime and regulatory investigations lawyers. The firm framed her appointment as part of a broader effort to strengthen national litigation capacity and deepen capability in complex regulatory and enforcement-related disputes.

Amber Warren, Dentons’ Australia Chair and Australasia Region CEO, said the hire reflects a strategic investment aimed at supporting clients navigating an increasingly complex legal and regulatory environment. John Dazell, partner and Head of Dispute Resolution in Australia, said Fregon’s arrival further strengthens the depth of the team’s dispute resolution offering.

Fregon said she was attracted by Dentons’ collaborative culture and the opportunity to help grow the practice while supporting clients through high-stakes, complex matters.
