Dentons Canada Appoints Tim Haney To Second Term As CEO

Dentons has appointed Tim B. Haney to a second term as Chief Executive Officer of Dentons Canada, extending his leadership of the firm’s Canadian operations as it continues investing in growth, technology and cross-border capabilities. Haney’s second term will become effective February 1, 2027.

The Dentons Canada Board unanimously approved the appointment.

During Haney’s first term, Dentons said its Canadian business strengthened its market position through growth, operational modernization and investment in its workforce.

The firm also expanded its cross-border capabilities, allowing Canadian lawyers and clients to draw more extensively on Dentons’ global platform.

Technology and innovation have become another area of focus under Haney’s leadership, with Dentons advancing artificial intelligence and other modernization initiatives across its Canadian operations.

Dentons Canada has also been recognized as one of Canada’s Top 100 Employers for four consecutive years.

The leadership extension comes as law firms face significant changes in how legal services are delivered, particularly as artificial intelligence and other technologies alter workflows, client expectations and operating models.

Haney said Dentons intends to continue investing in innovation while using the firm’s global footprint to create additional opportunities for clients and employees.

Dentons Global CEO Kate Barton described Canada as one of the firm’s most strategically important regions and said the Canadian business has become a model for growth, modernization and collaboration across the broader organization.

The second term provides leadership continuity as Dentons seeks to build on investments made during Haney’s first tenure and pursue further growth in Canada and internationally.
