Dentons Canada has announced that Scott McLeman and Alexandra Fox are joining the firm as partners in the Banking and Finance group in Calgary, expanding the firm’s transactional capabilities in one of Canada’s most active financial and energy markets. The appointments were announced by John Cusano, Managing Partner of the Calgary office, who described the additions as representative of the kind of growth the firm is actively building toward.
McLeman brings a practice spanning corporate finance, secured transactions, commercial real estate and mergers and acquisitions, with a client-focused approach that the firm says extends well beyond the mechanics of individual transactions. His reputation is built on providing strategic guidance alongside technical execution, making him a resource clients turn to not only for answers but for broader counsel on complex matters.
Fox brings over a decade of experience advising financial institutions, private lenders and borrowers on multi-jurisdictional and domestic commercial lending transactions, including both bilateral and syndicated facilities. Her depth in structured finance and her familiarity with cross-border lending dynamics represent a meaningful complement to the firm’s existing Calgary platform and to the needs of clients operating across the Canadian and international financial landscape.
The dual hire reflects continued investment by Dentons in its Calgary presence at a time when the intersection of energy, finance and infrastructure is generating increasing transactional complexity. Both partners will serve clients across the financial services and energy sectors, areas that define much of the city’s legal market and align with the firm’s broader strategic priorities in Western Canada.
