Carey brings over 20 years of experience advising a wide range of financial institutions, including banks, investment firms, hedge funds, and asset managers, on complex derivatives, swaps, foreign exchange, and hedging transactions, as well as related regulatory and compliance matters.
Carey’s practice spans both buy- and sell-side transactions, with expertise across listed and over-the-counter products and a firm grasp of global derivatives regulatory frameworks. He is experienced in negotiating ISDA Master Agreements, prime brokerage, clearing, and collateral arrangements, as well as advising on compliance with the Commodity Exchange Act and the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) rules.
Beyond derivatives, Carey also counsels clients on secondary market loan transactions, structured finance, and a range of capital markets matters, including residential mortgage-backed securities (MBS), asset-backed securities (ABS), and asset-based lending.
