Global law firm Dentons has enhanced its Corporate and M&A practice in Brussels by recruiting partner Erwin Simons. In this position, he will collaborate closely with Laurens Engelen, who was promoted to partner in 2023, to support clients’ transactions and further develop the Corporate and M&A team in Belgium.
Simons has over 25 years of experience advising both domestic and international clients on transactions in the Belgian market, including mergers, acquisitions, and joint ventures. Before joining Dentons, he was a partner at DLA Piper in the Corporate and M&A team in Brussels. In addition to his work in mergers and acquisitions, he provides support to clients on general corporate law matters and international corporate restructurings.
The recruitment of Simons is Dentons’ fourth partner hire in Belgium in 2025, following the arrival of Jens Debièvre (Public Law and Regulator), Joris de Vos (Restructuring, Litigation and Dispute Resolution), and Tom Geudens (Banking and Finance) earlier this year.
