Dentons appointed Jack Brumpton as a Partner, strengthening the firm’s national projects practice and its energy and infrastructure capabilities across Australia.
Brumpton will be based in Brisbane and will work closely with Dentons colleagues across Australia and the wider Asia-Pacific region.
He brings extensive experience advising clients across the energy, resources, and infrastructure sectors.
His work has included energy and infrastructure project development, acquisitions and divestments, joint ventures, commercial contracting, regulatory and approvals matters, energy transition initiatives, and emerging energy technologies.
Brumpton has advised on a range of complex and first-of-their-kind projects across Australia and the Asia-Pacific region.
His experience spans upstream oil and gas, LNG, renewable energy, hydrogen, battery storage, energy transmission, offshore wind, carbon markets, and sustainable development projects.
He also previously served as in-house counsel at SunCable, where he advised on the Australia-Asia PowerLink Project.
The appointment adds further depth to Dentons’ capabilities in several areas the firm has identified as key growth sectors, including renewable energy, transmission and storage, resources, utilities, and major project development.
Dentons’ national Infrastructure and Energy team advises clients across the full project lifecycle.
Its capabilities include energy regulation, transmission, National Electricity Market connection matters, project development, financing, delivery, and the operation of critical infrastructure.
Brumpton’s appointment is intended to further strengthen that platform as governments, investors, developers, and asset owners continue navigating increased infrastructure investment and opportunities associated with the energy transition.
