Dentons Link Legal has appointed Timothy Franklyn as a partner in its Capital Markets practice, expanding the firm’s capabilities in domestic and cross-border securities transactions. Franklyn will be based in the firm’s Bengaluru office.

Franklyn brings more than 20 years of experience advising companies, financial institutions, government entities, and other market participants on capital markets and corporate finance matters. His practice spans a broad range of equity and debt transactions involving issuers, underwriters, investors, and other stakeholders.

He has advised on initial public offerings, qualified institutional placements, rights issues, and other equity fundraising transactions. His debt capital markets experience includes high-yield bond offerings, convertible bonds, medium-term note programs, and securities issued under Rule 144A and Regulation S.

Rule 144A and Regulation S structures are commonly used by companies seeking to access international institutional investors while complying with applicable U.S. securities requirements. Franklyn’s experience with these transactions strengthens Dentons Link Legal’s ability to advise Indian issuers pursuing financing in global capital markets.

Before joining Dentons Link Legal, Franklyn worked with domestic and international law firms, where he advised on high-value and complex cross-border transactions. His clients included multinational corporations, global financial institutions, and government bodies operating across multiple jurisdictions.

His work has involved navigating securities regulations, disclosure requirements, transaction structuring, due diligence, and negotiations with banks, investors, and other parties. This experience enables him to advise clients throughout the lifecycle of a capital markets transaction, from initial planning and documentation through execution and closing.

Franklyn’s appointment comes as Indian companies increasingly consider a wider variety of domestic and international financing options. Businesses are using equity offerings, institutional placements, bonds, and other instruments to fund expansion, refinance existing obligations, pursue acquisitions, and strengthen their balance sheets.

At the same time, international investors and financial institutions continue to seek opportunities involving Indian issuers and assets. These trends are creating demand for legal advisers with experience coordinating transactions across different regulatory systems and capital markets.

Dentons Link Legal expects Franklyn to work with the firm’s corporate, banking, finance, regulatory, and international teams to advise clients on transactions involving India and other major financial markets. His addition is intended to deepen the firm’s ability to handle sophisticated mandates that require both local legal knowledge and international execution experience.

The appointment also strengthens the firm’s Bengaluru presence, placing an experienced capital markets lawyer in one of India’s most important technology, financial services, and corporate centers. The office serves companies, investors, financial institutions, and other clients operating in southern India and across the country.

By adding Franklyn to its partnership, Dentons Link Legal is expanding its capacity to advise on equity and debt offerings, securities regulation, and cross-border corporate finance transactions. The move reflects the firm’s continued investment in practices serving Indian businesses seeking capital and international organizations participating in the country’s financial markets.
