Dentons has promoted Gertrude Tamade to Litigation Partner in its Papua New Guinea office, strengthening the firm’s disputes capability across Australasia. Tamade brings more than twenty years of experience advising on complex commercial and civil matters across the region.
Tamade’s background combines private practice, in-house, and judicial experience. She was appointed by the Judicial Legal Services Commission as an Acting Judge of the National Courts of Papua New Guinea, serving two terms from August 2021 to July 2023, during which she presided over commercial and civil matters. She has also held senior roles at Pacific Legal Group, LLNS, Barrick Niugini Limited, and Corrs Chambers Westgarth. She holds a Master of Commercial Law from the University of Melbourne.
