Dentons Rattagan Arocena has promoted Facundo Maciel Bo to Counsel, marking a step up for a lawyer whose work sits at the intersection of public law, regulatory complexity, and competition matters in Argentina’s most closely supervised industries. The promotion follows his arrival at the firm in July 2025, when he joined as a Senior Associate after building more than 15 years of professional experience across private practice and the Argentine Federal Judiciary.
In his role, Maciel Bo focuses primarily on Public and Regulatory Law and Competition (Antitrust) Law, areas he co-leads within the firm. That combination positions him to advise clients facing questions that are both highly technical and strategically consequential, particularly when regulatory frameworks, public sector decision-making, and market conduct issues converge. In practice, matters in these areas can involve navigating licensing and permitting regimes, responding to regulatory investigations, managing compliance obligations, and assessing how competition rules affect commercial arrangements, tenders, and broader go-to-market decisions.
The firm highlighted that a substantial part of Maciel Bo’s experience was developed inside the Argentine Federal Judiciary. He served in multiple positions, including Clerk and Deputy Clerk at Chamber IV of the National Court of Appeals in Federal Administrative Litigation Matters. Experience in federal administrative litigation settings often provides a close view of how government decisions are challenged, defended, and reviewed, along with the procedural and evidentiary expectations that can shape outcomes. For clients operating in regulated sectors, that perspective can be especially relevant when disputes or enforcement actions move into administrative or judicial forums.
Maciel Bo currently provides ongoing advice in highly complex, heavily regulated sectors, including Energy, Mining, and Natural Resources. These industries typically involve layered oversight, long term projects, and significant operational and investment commitments, where regulatory certainty and risk management can be central to business planning.
His academic background is rooted in administrative law. Maciel Bo earned his law degree from the University of Buenos Aires in 2010, specializing in Public and Administrative Law, and later completed a Master’s degree in Administrative Law at Universidad Austral in 2019. That training aligns with a practice centered on the rules that govern public administration and the regulatory state, including how authorities exercise discretion, how regulated parties demonstrate compliance, and how decisions can be structured to withstand scrutiny.
The promotion also reflects the firm’s interest in strengthening capacity in areas where clients frequently face fast-moving legal and policy developments. Public and regulatory matters can shift with new enforcement priorities, changing rules, or heightened oversight of critical industries, while competition law has become increasingly important as companies evaluate partnerships, distribution strategies, pricing and marketing practices, and transactions in concentrated markets. Elevating a lawyer who works across these themes can bolster the firm’s ability to support clients through both day-to-day regulatory demands and higher-stakes matters that may involve disputes, investigations, or complex strategic planning.
