Dentons announced it welcomes Richard Brown as a partner in its Competition team in London. Brown joins Dentons from Travers Smith, where he worked on merger control, foreign investment review, and complex investigations.
Brown also advises clients in a range of sectors in the UK and other jurisdictions, including financial services, private equity, retail, transport, technology, and digital businesses, on all aspects of antitrust and competition law.
Along with his broad-seated sectoral expertise, having acted for major international technology clients, Brown brings valuable market-leading experience of and insights into how the EU Digital Markets Act and equivalent competition-law-inspired UK regulatory frameworks may impact businesses.
He also brings valuable experience of assisting transactional clients to navigate the new EU Foreign Subsidies Regulation, having helped secure one of the first clearances under the regime’s transaction screening regime. Some other clients Brown worked with include banks and other financial services providers, luxury consumer goods brands and hospitality businesses, liaising with both UK and EU regulators and courts.
