Descartes announced that it has acquired Drivin, a provider of last mile delivery management solutions across Latin America. The acquisition expands Descartes’ AI-powered last mile logistics capabilities and its Global Logistics Network.

Drivin is headquartered in Santiago, Chile. The company serves distributors, retailers, consumer goods companies, and logistics service providers that need to improve delivery performance in complex operating environments.

Drivin’s platform includes advanced route optimization, dispatch management, and real-time execution visibility. The solution is enhanced by machine learning and agentic AI capabilities.

Descartes said Drivin is widely used in high-density urban environments where logistics complexity and service expectations continue to increase. The company also said Drivin brings a significant volume of last mile logistics data and operational metadata generated from real-world delivery execution across Latin America.

The acquisition is expected to strengthen Descartes’ ability to help distribution-intensive businesses modernize and scale delivery operations. Descartes said the combination can support faster and more reliable delivery experiences as urban congestion and logistics complexity continue to grow.

Drivin also expands Descartes’ reach in Latin America. Descartes said the acquisition adds experienced leadership and domain expertise that can help accelerate innovation, adoption, and customer success across its Global Logistics Network.

Descartes acquired Drivin for upfront consideration of approximately $30 million, paid with cash on hand. The deal also includes potential performance-based consideration of up to $5 million.

The earn-out is based on the combined business achieving revenue-based targets during the first two years after the acquisition. Any earn-out payment is expected to be paid in fiscal 2029.

Descartes provides technology, data, and AI tools for logistics-intensive businesses through its Global Logistics Network. Its solutions support last mile delivery, domestic and international shipments, transportation rating and payment, global trade research, customs compliance, and regulatory processes.
