Dextall: $15 Million Series A Raised For Scaling AI-Based Prefabrication For Construction

By Amit Chowdhry • Jul 16, 2025

Dextall, a construction technology company that combines design software with off-site manufacturing, has secured $15 million in Series A funding to expand its AI-based prefabrication platform nationwide.

The funding round included major industry players with solid track records:

  1. L+M Development Partners – A leader in affordable housing development, responsible for over $20 billion in projects and 55,000 residential units.

  2. Essence Development – Founded by former NFL safety Jamar Adams, managing a $6 billion pipeline with nearly 4,000 affordable units in the Northeast.

  3. Simpson Strong-Tie – A global leader in structural connectors, generating $2.2 billion in revenue and operating over 50 facilities worldwide.

L+M and Essence enhance Dextall’s focus on high-volume affordable housing projects, while Simpson Strong-Tie bolsters its global supply chain. This support, which also includes Winklevoss Capital, reflects growing investor confidence in the modernization of construction technology.

Dextall’s platform, featuring Dextall Studio software, transforms schematic designs into detailed architectural drawings in under a week, significantly reducing the traditional 36-month process. The system uses a modular façade produced by certified regional partners and delivered through an AI-powered operational framework.

In New York City alone, over 6 million people have applied for just 10,000 affordable housing units, highlighting the urgent need for effective construction methods. Dextall’s system aims to overcome barriers to large-scale developments by cutting design-to-install timelines by 80%, reducing onsite labor by 87%, and lowering operational energy costs by 20%.

Dextall also contributes to sustainable construction by promoting modular dismantling of buildings that reduces landfill waste. After four years of strategic execution, Dextall has built a $110 million project backlog and signed $50 million in new contracts in 2024, demonstrating strong market demand.

Current collaborations with firms like SOM, SLCE Architects, Turner Construction, and Suffolk Construction showcase Dextall’s ability to meet high design and performance standards in off-site fabrication.

How the funding will be used: The Series A funding will accelerate the development of Dextall Studio, expand sales operations to key cities including Boston, Philadelphia, Washington D.C., and Chicago, support the global expansion of fabrication capacity to meet growing demand, and lay the foundation for additional prefabricated building components.

KEY QUOTE:

“With investors who control tens of thousands of units, a global supply partner, and the top builders and architects already onboard, we’re not speculating about disruption—we’re delivering it at scale. We’ve found clear product-market fit and built a model that is as scalable as it is practical—delivering real value where the industry needs it most.
