Digital Edge Commits $4.5 Billion To Build Indonesia’s Largest 500MW AI-Ready Hyperscale Data Center Campus

Digital Edge announced it will invest $4.5 billion to develop a new hyperscale data center campus in Indonesia designed for next-generation AI workloads, marking what the company described as its largest infrastructure commitment to date. The planned CGK Campus will be located in the GIIC Industrial Estate in Bekasi and is intended to expand Digital Edge’s footprint in Greater Jakarta as demand for cloud and AI capacity accelerates across the region.

At full development, the CGK Campus is expected to deliver 500MW of IT capacity, with the company stating the site is designed to scale up to 1 GW. Digital Edge positioned the project as a major expansion of carrier-neutral, hyperscale-ready infrastructure built to serve Indonesia’s rapidly growing digital economy and to support a broader ecosystem of cloud, enterprise, and AI deployments.

The company emphasized energy efficiency and sustainability features for the campus, including a targeted annual power usage effectiveness of 1.25. Digital Edge also highlighted design elements to support high-density AI compute, including direct-to-chip liquid cooling, recycled-water systems, and renewable-energy integration, alongside network diversity and broad connectivity options.

Digital Edge said the campus will be located near existing major data center clusters and will complement its EDGE1 and EDGE2 facilities in downtown Jakarta, providing low-latency connectivity to key business districts. Development will occur in multiple phases, with phase one consisting of three buildings. The first is scheduled to be ready for service in Q4 2026, followed by the second in Q1 2027 and the third in Q2 2027.

Connectivity for the campus will be supported by Indonet, Digital Edge’s wholly owned Indonesian telecommunications subsidiary. Digital Edge said Indonet’s fiber routes to the site will be built fully underground to improve reliability and resilience, paired with advanced monitoring and equipment to meet hyperscale and enterprise requirements.

Digital Edge, headquartered in Singapore and backed by Stonepeak, operates data center and fiber infrastructure across nine Asia-Pacific markets and said it has more than 1.4 GW of secured IT power, positioning the CGK Campus as a flagship build within its broader regional growth strategy.
