Digital Guardian, a Waltham, Massachusetts-based data protection company, recently announced it raised $30 million in funding led by private equity firm LLR Partners. Previous investors also participated in this round.
These investors also recognize that new data protection regulations like GDPR and the newly passed California Consumer Privacy Act will continue rising dramatically. This positions Digital Guardian for significant future growth.
“We are seeing increasing demand from organizations around the world for next-generation data protection solutions that secure sensitive information against both insider threats and external attacks,” said Digital Guardian CEO Mordecai Rosen in a statement. “With this strategic investment and new leadership at the helm, we will be able to successfully capitalize on the growing demand by accelerating product development and innovation.”
The Digital Guardian Data Protection Platform has now secured more than 4.5 million endpoints across 50 countries worldwide in high-growth verticals like financial services, manufacturing, healthcare, technology, and professional services. And the Digital Guardian Data Protection Platform also performs across the corporate network, traditional endpoints, and cloud applications. And it is supported by the DG Cloud — which is a big data security analytics backend that sees and blocks threats to sensitive information.
“With the advent of new compliance and privacy regulations, there is a tremendous market opportunity for a company that specializes in effective data protection,” added David Stienes of LLR Partners. “We value Digital Guardian’s mission of protecting the most sensitive data assets for the world’s leading organizations and have the highest degree of confidence in Mordecai and his new executive team. We are pleased to support their next phase of growth and development.”
The company also recently expanded its bench with a number of new management team members including Connie Stack (Chief Strategy Officer and Chief Marketing Officer), Debra Danielson (Chief Technology Officer and SVP of Engineering), and Ben Cody (Senior Vice President of Product Management).
