Digital Health Company MiSalud Reveals $8 Million In Funding

By Amit Chowdhry • Dec 9, 2024

MiSalud Health, a leading digital health platform providing affordable same-day bilingual telehealth consults (Spanish/English) in the U.S. and Mexico, announced that co-founder Bismarck Lepe has been appointed CEO. MiSalud Health also announced that Samsung Next participated in a recent $8 million funding round. Samsung Next was also joined by Ulu Ventures, Magnify Ventures, and Lowercase Capital.

Cindy Blanco leaves the role to lead economic development for the state of Jalisco in Mexico. And she will remain a member of the board. MiSalud Health focuses on Hispanics who prefer discussing their health in Spanish.

The U.S. health system is scrambling to serve better the rapid growth of Hispanics, who are prepared to become a majority of the U.S. population. And MiSalud expects to grow to serve more than 1 million people in the next two years.

Lepe previously founded Wizeline, one of the leading nearshore providers of digital services. He applied this knowledge to create MiSalud’s scalable system of high-quality health care, creating a new way of increasing access by leveraging nearshore health care professionals.

KEY QUOTES:

“MiSalud Health’s offerings are used by governments and employers to close health care access gaps for Hispanics living in health care deserts. We’ve focused on the agriculture, manufacturing, hospitality, and logistics industries. Together, with our customers and partners, we’re making sure this population has access to culturally-relevant physical and mental health services. By helping them stay healthy, disrupt disease progression, and avoid unnecessary emergency department use, we’re improving health outcomes, costs and reducing stress on an overburdened health care system.”

  • Bismarck Lepe

“Bismarck’s experience in building and scaling ventures like Ooyala and Wizeline uniquely equips him to advance MiSalud’s mission. MiSalud isn’t just a health care platform — it’s a bridge to equity for millions of Latinos. We’re proud to support their mission and look forward to the continued impact they’ll have.”
