Digital Turbine, the global leader in growth solutions for the mobile ecosystem, has appointed Ben John as Chief Technology Officer as the company continues its next phase of innovation and expansion.

Joining during a period of accelerating growth, John will lead Digital Turbine’s global engineering organization, product architecture, data-first scaling initiatives, and AI-driven development efforts to further strengthen the company’s momentum across the mobile ecosystem.

John brings more than 20 years of experience in building large-scale AI and advertising platforms. Most recently, he served as Vice President of Engineering at Microsoft AI Copilot. Prior to that, he was Chief Technology Officer and co-founder of Xandr, leading the company through its acquisition by Microsoft in 2022. Earlier in his career, he served as CTO of AppNexus, helping build one of the world’s largest independent programmatic marketplaces spanning buy-side and sell-side advertising platforms.

Over the course of his career, John has built and scaled global engineering teams across multiple continents, navigated multi-billion dollar acquisitions, and developed platforms that have shaped the digital advertising and AI landscape. He holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science specializing in machine learning and big data mining and has also served as Adjunct Faculty at New York University.

Digital Turbine said John’s appointment is aimed at accelerating innovation across its AI and data capabilities as the global mobile advertising market is projected to exceed $640 billion by 2030. The company operates technology embedded on more than 1 billion devices and across more than 80,000 apps, reaching over a billion users each month.

Digital Turbine, which trades on NASDAQ under the ticker APPS, connects advertisers, app owners, and device partners through on-device integrations, direct app partnerships, and intelligence powered by its Ignite Graph and DT iQ platforms. The company positions its model as delivering the scale and performance of a walled garden without the walls.
