Diligent, a governance, risk, and compliance (GRC) software provider that positions itself as an AI-first platform, said it has acquired 3rdRisk, an AI-native third-party risk management platform headquartered in the Netherlands.
Diligent said the deal adds an AI-driven solution to help risk and compliance teams manage fast-growing vendor and supplier oversight requirements, particularly for IT and technology vendors. The company framed third-party risk management as one of the largest and fastest-growing segments in GRC, citing heightened regulatory scrutiny, evolving cyber threats, and the expansion of digital dependencies across enterprise ecosystems.
By integrating 3rdRisk into its broader platform, Diligent said customers will be able to gain a more unified view of risk—from board-level governance oversight through to extended vendor landscapes. The combined offering is intended to help organizations understand how critical vendors are performing, how external dependencies are changing, and what those dynamics mean for enterprise risk posture.
Diligent said 3rdRisk’s product uses AI to automate vendor profiling, streamline assessment workflows, and analyze documentation such as contracts and certifications. The goal, according to the announcement, is to accelerate audit readiness from “quarters” to “weeks” by reducing manual effort and improving the speed of risk review and monitoring.
The acquisition also extends a slate of Diligent’s recent AI product rollouts, which the company said include GovernAI for governance workflows, AI Risk Essentials for enterprise risk management, AI enhancements to its entity and subsidiary management tools, and ACL AI Studio for audit and compliance analytics.
Advisers on the transaction included District Capital Partners and Goodwin Procter LLP for Diligent, and WizeCap and deBreij for 3rdRisk. Financial terms were not disclosed.
