Dilworth Paxson added Stephen M. Lazare, Yale Glazer, and Andrew M. Premisler to its Insurance Services Group in New York, expanding the firm’s capabilities in complex insurance coverage counseling and litigation. The team joins from Lazare Potter Glazer & Moyle.
The lawyers represent domestic and international insurers in first-party and third-party matters involving commercial general liability, property and casualty, professional liability, construction defect, environmental, employment practices, bad faith, and other extra-contractual exposures.
Their work also includes serving as pre-litigation counsel, collaborating with experts and adjusters to assess losses, and advising insurers and defense counsel on case management, settlement strategy, and coverage issues.
The additions follow Dilworth Paxson’s May expansion in New York, when Robert L. Baker Jr., Michael J. Willner, and Jesse M. Dimitro joined the firm with practices focused on commercial real estate transactions, leasing, and related litigation.
Lazare brings more than 40 years of insurance experience. He has represented carriers at the trial and appellate levels in first-party and third-party disputes involving property and casualty, professional liability, construction defect, bad faith, and other coverage matters.
He is also a former chair and vice-chair of the New York State Bar Association’s TICL Insurance Coverage Committee.
Glazer previously served as an Assistant District Attorney in the Bronx County District Attorney’s Office and has extensive litigation and trial experience involving first-party and third-party insurance coverage matters.
His practice includes examinations under oath, loss and coverage assessments, property claims, business income disputes, construction-related coverage, and appeals. He is admitted to practice in New York and New Jersey.
Premisler brings more than 25 years of experience in insurance coverage and commercial litigation.
Throughout his career, he has represented major insurance carriers and other companies in civil litigation at both the trial and appellate levels.
Premisler is licensed in New York and Massachusetts and has chaired New York State Bar Association continuing legal education programs focused on insurance coverage.
Dilworth Paxson said the additions are part of a broader strategy to strengthen its insurance coverage practice and expand its presence in New York and the broader Mid-Atlantic market.
