Dispatch Launches API To Embed Wealth Management Account Opening Into Third-Party Platforms

Dispatch has launched the Dispatch API, opening its wealth operations infrastructure to wealthtech companies, fintech providers and technology-focused registered investment advisors that want to embed custodian workflows directly into their own software and client experiences.

Account opening is the first capability available through the API.

Jump and Wealthbox are among the first companies using the technology to integrate Dispatch-powered custodian execution directly into their respective platforms.

Additional operational capabilities are expected to be made available through the API over time.

Dispatch developed the API to address the complexity involved in building wealth management operational infrastructure.

Technology providers seeking to execute custodian workflows typically need to connect to fragmented custodian systems, standardize and reconcile financial information, validate data against different account requirements and coordinate actions across multiple systems.

The Dispatch API allows those companies to use Dispatch’s existing infrastructure rather than recreating those capabilities internally.

Dispatch said this approach can allow technology providers to concentrate more resources on their own products and user experiences while using Dispatch for the underlying execution layer.

The platform is built around five primary layers: a translation layer, ontology, firm graph, agentic action, and an audit and control pane.

Together, those components are intended to translate information across systems, understand relationships and context within wealth management firms, perform operational actions and maintain the governance and auditability required for revenue-critical workflows.

Jump is using the Dispatch API to support real-time account opening during advisor-client conversations.

The integration combines information shared during a client meeting with data already held by the advisory firm.

Dispatch validates the application against custodian requirements while Jump manages the advisor-facing workflow, allowing paperwork to potentially be completed and signed before the meeting ends.

The approach is intended to eliminate repeated data entry and reduce handoffs among disconnected systems.

Wealthbox is using the API from a different point in the advisor workflow.

Advisors can initiate account opening directly from an existing Wealthbox client record using information already stored in the CRM.

Wealthbox supplies the required client information, while Dispatch validates the data, confirms that the application meets custodian requirements, routes it through the appropriate submission channel and tracks the process through funding.

This allows advisors to use information already stored in their CRM rather than copying it manually into a separate account-opening system.

Dispatch said its platform is already used by half of the 10 largest RIAs for account opening and advisor transitions.

Tens of billions of dollars in client assets have moved through Dispatch infrastructure across hundreds of thousands of opened accounts.

The platform connects with major U.S. custodians including Fidelity, Charles Schwab and Pershing.

Dispatch also supports advisor transitions and data synchronization across CRM, financial planning, billing, eSignature and document-management platforms.

Opening the platform through an API represents an expansion of Dispatch’s business model from providing operational infrastructure directly to wealth management firms to also powering workflows inside third-party technology products.

That could allow wealthtech providers to embed more execution capabilities directly into the software advisors already use rather than requiring advisors to move into separate systems to complete administrative tasks.

KEY QUOTES:

“The Dispatch API is the next chapter of that story: opening the infrastructure we have already built so other companies can bring execution into their own products without having to recreate it themselves.”

Rob Nance, Co-Founder and CEO of Dispatch

“By building on the Dispatch API, we’re enabling real-time account opening directly from the advisor workflow, connecting the intelligence captured during a client meeting with the infrastructure needed to execute that next step.”

Parker Ence, Co-Founder and CEO of Jump

“Dispatch takes what is already accurate in the CRM and carries it through custodian validation and execution, so the advisor’s next step is confirming, not retyping.”

John Rourke, Co-Founder and CEO of Wealthbox
