DLA Piper announced it has expanded its global Environmental Regulatory practice with the addition of Adrián del Paso as a partner in the firm’s Mexico City office, strengthening the firm’s capabilities across environmental, life sciences, and regulatory matters in Mexico and beyond.
Del Paso joins DLA Piper with his long-standing team and brings more than two decades of experience advising clients in highly regulated industries. His work spans sectors including pharmaceuticals, healthcare, chemicals and agrochemicals, metallurgical and mining, energy and infrastructure, hospitality, and real estate.
In his practice, del Paso advises domestic and multinational clients on compliance with Mexico’s environmental, life sciences, and regulatory legal frameworks, including cross-border matters. He also supports corporate activity in these areas by providing transactional guidance, due diligence, and related counsel for mergers, acquisitions, and other corporate transactions. In addition, he advises on operational issues, strategic permitting for major projects, and administrative litigation before Mexican authorities.
The hire adds depth to DLA Piper’s broader Latin America platform, which the firm says integrates local market knowledge with its global resources. DLA Piper noted it has more than 400 lawyers practicing across Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Mexico, Peru, and Puerto Rico, supported by US-based cross-border attorneys and collaboration across the wider firm network.
