DLA Piper has added Brian Gingold as co-leader of its New York Private Equity practice, strengthening the firm’s capabilities across private equity transactions, financing matters and portfolio company advisory work.
Gingold brings more than 25 years of experience advising private equity sponsors, portfolio companies and other clients throughout the private equity investment lifecycle.
His experience includes leveraged buyouts, mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, minority investments, complex carveouts, dispositions, recapitalizations and corporate reorganizations. This breadth allows him to advise clients from initial investment and financing through portfolio company growth initiatives and eventual exits.
Gingold has advised on both domestic and cross-border transactions spanning consumer products, industrials, telecommunications, digital infrastructure, healthcare, life sciences, transportation and technology.
His cross-border experience is particularly relevant as private equity sponsors increasingly pursue investments that involve multiple jurisdictions, regulatory regimes and financing structures.
Complex carveouts and leveraged transactions are another significant component of his practice. These deals can require coordination across corporate, finance, tax, regulatory and operational matters, particularly when businesses are being separated from larger organizations or financed through multiple layers of debt and equity.
DLA Piper’s global Private Equity practice includes more than 225 lawyers advising private equity funds and portfolio companies across acquisitions, divestitures, financing transactions, restructurings and other strategic matters.
The firm said Gingold’s experience will strengthen its ability to help clients navigate increasingly complex investment, financing and transaction execution challenges across private capital markets.
His appointment also expands DLA Piper’s senior private equity leadership in New York, a major hub for sponsors, private credit firms, investment banks and other institutions involved in private capital transactions.
Gingold’s experience across acquisitions, portfolio company matters and exits is expected to support DLA Piper as the firm continues expanding its work with private equity clients throughout the full investment lifecycle.
KEY QUOTE:
“Brian’s extensive experience will enhance our capabilities as our clients seek strategic counsel to execute transactions, deploy capital, and create value in an increasingly dynamic market.”
Joseph Silver, Leader Of DLA Piper’s Private Equity Practice
