DLA Piper Adds Eric Bruce As Washington Investigations Team Reaches Fourth Partner Hire In 18 Months

DLA Piper has added veteran litigator and former federal prosecutor Eric Bruce as a partner in its White Collar Crime, Investigations and Government Enforcement practice in Washington, D.C.

Bruce will advise multinational companies, corporate boards and senior executives on cross-border investigations, regulatory enforcement and litigation.

His practice includes matters involving the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, sanctions and export controls, money laundering, securities fraud, antitrust violations, terrorist financing, False Claims Act allegations and civil litigation under the U.S. Anti-Terrorism Act.

The addition comes as DLA Piper expands its global investigations and enforcement platform amid increasingly complex sanctions and regulatory requirements.

Bruce works with companies on exposure assessments and internal controls addressing evolving compliance risks, including issues arising from new Foreign Terrorist Organization designations and related enforcement activity.

His practice frequently involves Latin America and other international markets.

Bruce spent more than a decade as a federal prosecutor in the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York.

He also served as Senior Counsel to the Assistant Attorney General for the Criminal Division and as Counselor to the U.S. Attorney General at the Department of Justice.

Chambers ranks Bruce Band 1 for white collar crime defense and government investigations in Washington, D.C.

DLA Piper’s global investigations and enforcement platform now includes approximately 350 compliance and investigations lawyers along with public affairs and communications professionals.

The group also includes more than 40 former U.S. Attorneys, Assistant U.S. Attorneys and state Attorneys General.

Bruce is the fourth partner to join DLA Piper’s Washington investigations team during the past 18 months.
