DLA Piper has appointed Ignacio Delpino as a partner in its Finance practice in Chile, expanding the firm’s banking and capital markets capabilities in the country. Delpino brings more than 15 years of experience advising on structured, bilateral, and syndicated financings, as well as domestic and cross-border capital markets matters, derivatives and ISDA documentation, and banking and financial regulatory issues. He most recently served as general counsel and board secretary at Banco Security.
In his new role, Delpino will work with financial institutions, funds, and insurers, supporting Chile-based and cross-border transactions while collaborating with DLA Piper teams across areas that intersect with finance, including projects and energy, corporate and mergers and acquisitions, insurance, and disputes. The firm said his background includes advising on topics such as LIBOR transition, financial portability, fintech regulation, derivatives, treasury matters, and regulatory engagements involving multiple stakeholders.
The firm said Delpino’s arrival follows the recent addition of Macarena Gatica in Chile, and reflects continued investment in building integrated, cross-practice legal support across Latin America. The firm’s Latin America platform spans multiple jurisdictions and includes more than 400 lawyers across the region, supported by cross-border attorneys and a broader global network of offices.
